2016 WGBY Asparagus Festival | WGBY

As a native to Western Massachusetts, I have always known that we grow some of the best asparagus in the world. Most of which comes from Hadley, MA. It's native to the area and grows best here because of the soil. I can go on and on about the flavor, but I'd like to think you'd take my word for it, since I'm a chef and all. Personally I like to shave asparagus with a vegetable peeler and eat it raw in a salad with a lemon-y vinaigrette and fresh mint. I've done all types of dishes from - using it raw with halibut crudo to just simply dressed with toasted almonds. The link is to the annual asparagus festival.
