Lamb necks are such a delicious cut of meat, and so cheap! Cook it like a pork tenderloin.
Local lamb producers always tell me the same thing at farmers markets: people don't buy lamb neck because they don't realise what an amazing cut of meat it is, and how easy it is to cook! Its very ...

PAFarmer such good #NoFoodwaste advice @munchiemummy!
-
DietID_TeamDietitians Love this recipe, especially using madras curry powder, which has an awesome kick. Next time you visit that farmer you should give him this recipe so he can sell more lamb neck.
-
munchiemummy @Rachna what a great idea! I'd love to print off a recipe card(s) to help out local producers.

Eat your turnip greens!
Don't get rid of your turnip greens! Chop them off of your turnips before storing in the fridge in order to help the greens and roots last longer. We like to lightly sautΓ© the greens in garlic and ...
-
FarmerDave I add them to a simple stir fry with ginger and tamari. I never used to keep turnip greens, but I'm so glad I do now.
-
RahulRaRa I wonder if you can use these greens like you use spinach in some Indian flatbreads.
-
olivettefarm @RahulRaRa I bet you could. The turnips greens will cook a little quicker than spinach does possibly. @FarmerDave that sounds good! Gonna have to try that.
I'm calling this one the "Locals Only Quiche".
Yet another asparagus recipe! Getting as much as we can before the season is out ππΌ
Farmstand asparagus, 2 rashers of bacon from our local butcher [sliced into 1/2" pieces], locally made cheddar [...
-
PAFarmer I like the word "rashers"...does that mean a strip?
-
munchiemummy @PAFarmer yep! Over here in the UK it's unsmoked back bacon, so the pieces are a bit larger than American style bacon (from the belly), and they're called rashers. Smoked bacon would be fine in...
-
mirasingh I learn something new every day. I'll use "rashers" with my British cousins =)
Wild mushrooms ππΌ thinking up some recipes to use them!

#nofoodwaste #FoodRevolution tip - squeeze the juice out of a mango pit + lemon juice to make tangy dressing
This salad had local greens and roasted beets
-
etsummer This is a great idea! I'm always bummed about how much 'stuff' is still left on a mango pit once you do your best to cut the fruit away.
-
PizzaCat Can't wait to try it! Good idea.
-
DietID_TeamDietitians Totally agree @etsummer. But as a kid it was always my job to try to gnaw off every last mango fiber off the pit. I got pretty good at it, though you definitely need a toothpick handy
