Plantains > Bread

This recipe is easy, clever and healthy. Seriously, why buy bread anymore, people?! It's gluten-free, grain-free and packed full of vitamins and prebiotic starch 🙌🏻🍌

annefood Great idea! There's a restaurant where I used to live that had a sandwich on the menu using plantains. I had forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder.
-
foodbymars @annefood isn't it the best!

annefood So good!
Did you know? Eating a high protein diet can seriously help sugar cravings!
draxe.com
"How many grams of protein per day do you need? It depends on your goals: whether you seek general good health, want to lose fat or hope to gain muscle."
-
garv Never thought that there would be a connect between a high protein diet & sugar cravings.
-
foodbymars @garv often times people assume cravings are based on lack of self control or that it's all mental, but often times it's an underlying nutrient deficiency and your body is craving what it's...
-
Brianne I discovered this from my own experimentation. I haven't done much 'calculation,' as suggested in the article, but I do try to swap in sugary snacks for more protein-dense snacks whenever possible.
