  • annefood I've only had added sugar once in the last 4 weeks! I didn't eat sugar for years but @manfood derailed that. Back on the wagon!
  • JenniferEmilson I did it for six weeks once. And in reality I only missed it when baking. Once you don't have it, you find natural sweetness enough. Even cinnamon has a sweetness.
  • DietID_TeamDietitians You gals have some stamina! I did @sugardetoxme's 7 day detox and I felt incredible. I just need to get back on the wagon and keep more veggies around

  • akhilg2002 You know I'm in for that!
  • JenniferEmilson It's so much fun @Rachna The most challenging part is getting the bbq temp correct. Now that we've done it a few times, I would say: start grill at 400 degrees. Roll out the dough to about 10". Use...

  • DietID_TeamDietitians Such a good tip. I don't think my ovens have ever been right :( any tips on placement within the oven? I find that things bake wildly different on different shelves
  • mirasingh Maybe this is why my baking is always a crapshoot!

  • Gwendolyn Yes! Works great. #kitchentips
  • JenniferEmilson Another easy way: get oven to 375 degrees. Sprinkle water all over the outside of baguette or loaf and put directly into oven. The steam will crunch up the outside, and warmly soften and fluff up...

  • Gwendolyn I always add a pan of water to the oven while I'm cooking fish to keep it moist and help it cook evenly, but I didn't know you could do the same for cakes! Cool!
  • unconventionalbaker Good tips @Rachna. Also making sure the balance between the acid and base is correct. A lot of the cake's rise depends on the interaction between those two (like baking soda and lemon juice for...
  • JenniferEmilson You'll also want to ensure your leavening agents are fresh and active. Too high a temp is often the culprit.
