Seriously dirty pot or pan? Let it soak with white vinegar, baking soda and water for a few hours before scrubbing. It'll be good as new.

JenniferEmilson If it's really crusted with food bits, etc., add an inch of water and bring to a boil. 'Deglazing' your pot by letting the water and heat loosen those bits and then using a spoon to scrape them up.

JenniferEmilson I did it for six weeks once. And in reality I only missed it when baking. Once you don't have it, you find natural sweetness enough. Even cinnamon has a sweetness.
