JoanneG 8yr I love smoothies. I just got a new blender so I've been experimenting with a lot of ingredients. My new favorite is almond butter, dates, banana, and chia seeds - it's like dessert!

LaurenDiebolt 8yr Smoothies have a lot of sugar in them, even if it's natural sugar. Your body also digests it much faster than if you just ate the ingredients you would put into a smoothie, so you are full for a shorter amount of time. Better to ditch the smoothie and just eat the food you put in it ππΌ

tenniscourt18 8yr That's exactly what I put in my smoothies! They're a perfect way to eat your fruits. They're quick and easy if you're on the go too!

annefood 8yr Awesome @purplebatman ! This is a great Avoid Sugar at Breakfast option! While @LaurenDiebolt is right that your body does digest blended fruit differently than it would digest the whole fruit, smoothies do have fiber which does slow down sugar absorption. And they're very handy for a breakfast on the go! Adding protein like yogurt as you mentioned is a great way to offset the natural sugar. Or try adding a tablespoon of peanut or almond butter in thereβthe protein will sustain you longer. Keep up the good work!

queeniie 8yr I need to get a blender, any recommendations on good ones?
-
queeniie 8yr I absolutely love smoothies π

annefood 8yr @queeniie I'm a Vitamix fan myself. Blendtec is another high-powered blender that people love. Those two are great because they are able to break down whole fruits with ease, and make such creamy smoothies. They can be used for making nut butters or sauces too. I've had Kitchen Aid and Oster blenders also and they worked well for smoothies. You just need to cut things up into smaller pieces before blending.

queeniie 8yr Alright thanks @annefood
