Georegulus 8yr I never really figured out how to use artichokes, so I'd like to know myself!

olivettefarm 8yr I remember an herbalist I met once dried them and used them in teas. I think he may have used them as a digestive. We tried to use the leaves once in stock, but weren't crazy about it.

lauren 8yr When my grandma boils artichoke, she drinks the water as tea! Doesn't help with the leaves too much but it's something

brittanymbarton 8yr I second the stemming with butter. There's still meat on the ends of each leaf. And what about throwing in the leaves to a veggie broth, just like you do with onion peels?

annefood 8yr Third vote for steaming and then dipping in a vinaigrette. Yum!

JenniferEmilson 8yr We grew up with my mom steaming the entire artichoke, making a hollandaise sauce, and then each getting our own artichoke to dis-assemble. Leaf by leaf we would dip it in the the hollandaise and scrape off the 'flesh' from each leaf. As you worked your way down, the leaves got more flashy and tender, and then you were rewarded with the heart to eat!!
