Store nuts in the freezer!
Their high fat content causes them to spoil easily, and freezing them keeps them fresh. Just use/eat them straight out of the freezer! #kitchentips

JenniferEmilson I keep all nuts as well as certain flours in the freezer- makes such a difference!!

annefood Agreed!!
Seriously dirty pot or pan? Let it soak with white vinegar, baking soda and water for a few hours before scrubbing. It'll be good as new.
-
JenniferEmilson If it's really crusted with food bits, etc., add an inch of water and bring to a boil. 'Deglazing' your pot by letting the water and heat loosen those bits and then using a spoon to scrape them up.

DietID_TeamDietitians Awesome tips!

annefood Yes @JenniferEmilson I do that too!

Frustrated with your knife? Flavorless dental floss is a great tool for cutting soft foods like goat cheese or cake.

DietID_TeamDietitians Omg so smart
Need help opening that pesky jar? Put a rubber band around the lid for added grip.

Wrap the stems of bananas to make them last longer.
This prevents the ethylene gas produced by the stems from ripening the rest of the fruit too quickly. Want to slow it even more? Wrap each banana stem individually. #kitchentips

unconventionalbaker Interesting. Though admittedly they don't last long around here 😄
I also make risotto with Farro... But buckwheat sounds much better!
