Back Creek Valley Homesteading Festival

"This event is an oportunity for folks to learn about "old school" skills that used to be part of everyday life. Skills that have been forgotten by many but that, we feel, are important and need to be revisited. We will have workshops on soap making, candle and cheese making, bee keeping, seed saving, container gardening, small farming, basic survival skills, preparedness and more. there will be food vendors, hay rides, a kids craft corner and live bluegrass music.
Cost is $5 per adult, kids under 12 get in free Lots of great vendors, including the Wild Rose Soap Co. Classes on the following are all included in your $5 admission fee: Cheese, Candles, Cold Process Soap, Hard cider making, Seed Saving, Animal trapping and butchering, Container Gardening
A great value for just $5, plus lots of great handcrafted vendors and outdoorsy/prepper vendors.
Live Bluegrass music from the Stoney Creek Bluegrass band.
Our 2016 Fair will be held on Saturday Aug 27, 2016 at the Jr Order Lodge grounds in Ganotown, WV. from 9am-5pm."

I just took a hydroponic farm tour at farm.one at the Institute of culinary education. Wow! Got to taste some really interesting herbs and greens and they are now delivering to New York City chefs ...
