This salad had local greens and roasted beets
  • etsummer This is a great idea! I'm always bummed about how much 'stuff' is still left on a mango pit once you do your best to cut the fruit away.
  • PizzaCat Can't wait to try it! Good idea.
  • DietID_TeamDietitians Totally agree @etsummer. But as a kid it was always my job to try to gnaw off every last mango fiber off the pit. I got pretty good at it, though you definitely need a toothpick handy

  • etsummer Great #nofoodwaste tip, using those almost-out-the-door greens!
  • carpe_deli Thanks @etsummer yes indeed 😋
  • RahulRaRa Gargeer! That's what some people call arugula or rocket around me. These greens wilt pretty easily in the heat, so this is a great recipe (I have no shortage of naan).

I bought too many ramps and too much chickweed a few weekends ago, so made it into pesto! (Yes, I cannot believe I pay for chickweed. It was a pest in my NC garden.) #cityslicker
  • gustin Curious what you pay for chickweed? I have literally acres of it that grows wild, makes a great ground cover
  • MargaretG @gustin the farmer john gorzynski charges about 3$ per bunch for all his greens. If you are near NYC on a Saturday morning, it would be worth it to see what he does. He sells things that lots of...
