Love hard boiled eggs, but have a hard time taking the shell off. Any good tricks to share with me?

  • sugardetoxme Don't use fresh ones (unfortunately) and shock with cold water right after boiling.
  • sugardetoxme Also putting eggs in a closed Tupperware and shaking vigorously to shatter the shell works
  • lauren I was told salt will do the trick!

Raw vegan etc Papaya ideas?
8yr
Papaya are SOOOOOO healthy! But, to me, they smell and taste like feet. Looking for some great healthy recipes that mask the flavor, while saving 'the healthy.' ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’–
  • sugardetoxme Oh man too funny. My friend always said that the texture of papaya made him think of beaten flesh. Turned me off for a while. But now I love it simply squeezed with fresh lime or as a papaya sorbet!
  • katewilson When I think of papaya, I think of dessert. Coconut with papaya and mango is nice, so maybe blended into a smoothie or frozen into a Popsicle?
  • katewilson Or papaya jam on sprouted bread

  • akhilg2002 My wife is trying to get us to grow plants at home, so now our Basil plant is a source of extra seasoning on half of our home cooking!
  • DietID_TeamDietitians Ginger!! I put it in literally everything from soups, to tea, to fish. I don't have an ice cream maker but if I did, I'd probably make ginger ice cream too ;)
  • marynfulton2 Mmm two of my favorites. What would we do without spices and herbs?! They make life better ๐Ÿ˜Š

Resounding agreement at @foodbizschool panel that there is NO food policy happening in Washington. Question on how we'll put it on the agenda.

Senate bill would block mandatory labeling of GMOs

I'm still not sure what I think on GMO and labeling. Im pro-labels in general but not positive if GMO labels do anything besides give insinuations on GMO products that are uncertain. Any thoughts?
  • DietID_TeamDietitians The question of "certainty" is it's own issue because a ton of new research has come out on the topic, so I won't comment on that. But as far as labels go, it's really about knowing what's in your...
  • etsummer I do agree with @Rachna...why not label? it's giving consumers a chance to be more informed and responsible eaters, and it's their job to do that research to decide if it's something they want to...
